Warren Oil Company is seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to manage its information systems and infrastructure. This person will be responsible for managing the company's IT staff, ERP system (JD Edwards), network, security, disaster recovery, help desk and phone systems. Warren Oil is the largest independent lubricants manufacturer in the US and operates five locations with over 450 employees. 

This is a tremendous opportunity to transform the company's IT systems and culture, giving users better tools to do their work and make better decisions.  This position is based at the company's corporate headquarters in Dunn, NC and will report directly to the CFO.

ERP Applications

The company currently utilizes JD Edwards World (9.1) as its ERP system.  This individual would be responsible for leading the project to upgrade to a modern ERP.  This would include:

  • Managing outside consultants (Terillium) with the implementation of short term fixes in accounting, costing and production planning modules
  • Implementing a new financial reporting software package (Reports Now)
  • Evaluating new ERP solutions
  • Managing the new ERP migration project and implementation team

Network, Servers and Firewall

  • Ongoing evaluation of the company's MPLS network, switches and configuration
  • Implementation of improvements to increase reliability and response time
  • Evaluation of all company servers including an AS400. Develop and implement a plan to move servers off premise to a data center
  • Ensure the company's data and systems are adequately protected from outside infiltration, viruses or other security breaches
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive disaster recovery plan
  • Evaluate the use of managed services for monitoring the network and servers, maintaining firewalls and conducting backups
  • Manage vendor relationships with network, data center and manage services providers


User Applications

  • Oversee the implementation of Office 365
  • Manage Office 365 subscriptions and users
  • Oversee other user cloud based IT systems (i.e. Concur, etc.)

Phone Systems

  • Implement a new phone system at all locations (RingCentral)
  • Oversee the management of the corporate phone systems

Help Desk Administration

Oversee the help desk functions, implementing a ticketing system and providing rapid response for manufacturing and customer service IT issues

  • New user setup
  • Provide user support
  • Order and configure new hardware as required by users


  • Manage the current IT staff of 3
  • Identify needs and recruit new talent as necessary
  • Develop and manage the company's IT budget


Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of IT related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior ERP implementation/migration project management experience
  • A+ certification and network + certification preferred but not required
  • Experience working with managed services
  • Strong team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to lead a team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills


Additional Notes

  • This position will require working overtime and occasional overnight travel
